Levy is running against Themis Klarides and Peter Lumaj in the Republican primary election, which is set for Tuesday, Aug. 9.
Trump gave his endorsement on Thursday, Aug. 4.
If elected, Levy said she would "beat back" Blumenthal, a Democrat who first assumed office in 2011.
Trump has clashed with Blumenthal numerous times over the years, as detailed in a 2019 report from Politico.
"Thank you President Trump! I’m honored to have your COMPLETE and TOTAL endorsement!" Levy tweeted on Thursday, Aug. 4. "I’m the ONLY candidate who can Beat Back Blumenthal and hold Joe Biden accountable."
Levy, age 65, who lives in Greenwich, was born in Havana, Cuba, according to Balltopedia, which noted she served as the finance chair of the Connecticut gubernatorial campaigns of Tom Foley and Bob Stefanowski,
She was nominated by Trump to be United States Ambassador to Chile in September 2019. But the then Republican-controlled Senate never voted on her confirmation.
